My mother always told me, "Ten fiel, hijo. Ahora que todo lo que pidas a Dios,
te lo dará."

Faith is a deeply personal project. It is an homage to my older brother, Vincent, who, in many ways, has shaped the person I am today, albeit in ways I didn’t always recognize. When he was diagnosed with psychosis at 19, our family dynamics changed drastically. Watching the person I cherished most struggle with addiction and his mental health issues distanced me not only from him but from the rest of my family as well. I thought that detaching myself was a way to protect my emotions, but now, I realize it was a selfish response and not the healthiest way to cope.

This project is my way of reflecting on that journey and honoring both my brother and the lessons I have learned. A lot of the references in Faith draw naturally from Christianity and spirituality, as I was born in Mexico and raised in a devout
Christian family.
